Legendary heavyweight boxer Earnie Shavers died on Thursday at the age of 78.
DAZN Boxing also reported Shavers' death, describing him as “one of the hardest punchers in boxing history.”
"One of the hardest punchers in boxing history. Earnie Shavers has sadly passed away at the age of 78. RIP Champ," DAZN Boxing said in a tweet.
Shavers is best known for his work in the 1970s, although he was active from 1969 through 1995 and was known as one of the hardest punchers during his career.
Shavers finished his career with a record of 74-14-1 and 68 knockouts.
