NY, NY, United States (4E) - The United States women's national team is getting feted with a ticker-tape parade in New York City Wednesday, celebrating its fourth World Cup from Sunday's 2-0 win over the Netherlands.
The team was honored as it moved up the Canyon of Heroes, located on Broadway between the Battery and City Hall.
Mayor Bill de Blasio, a Democrat also running for president, awarded players with symbolic keys to the city before thousands of admirers that came out to celebrate.
The team is flying to Los Angeles Wednesday night in time to take part in the ESPY's, ESPN's annual awards show honoring great personalities and achievements in sports.
